Much of your EV experience feels familiar to me.

A future adventure for you and the electrician hubby may include what I have atop my garage- 8 solar panels that effectively bring my daily top-up cost to 0. In the 5 years of EV ownership, I've only paid for charges a handful of times at the superchargers when driving to Chicago, Mpls, KC or Denver.

Phoebe, I love your free lance writing. Have you ever considered car sales as a career? Jim Farley should hire you. Smile for your readers!!

My best,

Have you noticed any uptick in your electric bill from the charging? I have never owned an EV, just regular cars and hybrids.

Like Dan (below), I noticed a slight uptick but I’ve cut fuel costs easily by two-thirds. I have 14K miles since July.

That's a lot of miles! I only put about 8,000 miles a year on my car. But definitely something to consider.

I share mileage to illustrate we’ve studied costs and my conclusion comes after a commitment behind the wheel. 😉 Note: This is more miles driven than usual.

My car fuel bill is cut by 2/3 easily after 15K miles. Electric bill impact is slight. My mother’s electric bill is 2x mine with no car charge just based on heat usage in Michigan — and her house is smaller. Can’t believe the $ I save. And time not at gas stations.

For me its about $25-30 more per month, but that is about 1/3 of what I was paying for gas.
