Great article Phoebe! Thanks for sharing the details and pictures of your special experience at the party… so many unique events happen in in our wonderful city of Detroit!

I am astonished by the things I learn every single day. The energy, talent and smarts in the Motor City is just unbelievable. Watching artists Fight Club their work against a timer was insane. Also, any party with an extreme age range of guests is a great time.

Always read your articles, Phoebe. My husband and I 'landed' at a Camillo Pardo party years ago and felt like fish out of water, but he could not have been more gracious to us and I will always remember that about him.

So grateful you always read. I respect the value of time. Camilo is exceptionally gracious. Stunned by his work, honestly. xoxo

Always looking for unusual, interesting angles.

Working on another piece now.

I love that I’ve been an autos reporter for seven years and still making discoveries, hunting for fresh things.

Hi Phoebe,

I loved this article and look forward to your commentary on life and the auto industry. Being in advertising years ago, we used graphic artist houses (retired in Lititz, PA now). There were always graphics of futuristic cars on the walls. I wish you continued success in your new role.

My best,

Rick

The 1st floor party was friendly, urbane, but challenging to see all of Pardo's art and talk to people you know. It has been thus, for the last 20 years, when it was really about people in design jobs who would get together. Camilo is a Renaissance man, doing all manner of art, sculpture, fashion design (see the model's jumpsuits), and event marketing and planning. He had the foresight to invest in a '30s building for a studio, before Midtown became hot and has never stopped creating. He has started monetizing his name with multiple products for the general public that never connected him with art, cars, and the Gen 2 GT40!
