We have one Rivian in our town, driven by a well known retired gentleman. Everyone knows Skip and his unique pickup! I love learning more about his vehicle and its origins. Cool story.
Still haven't gone fully electric (our Audi is a mild hybrid), but it won't take much for us to take the plunge. The future is electric and those who vociferously champion ICE over EVs impress me as those who, back in the day, would encounter a disabled car by yelling, "Get a horse!".
Please remember that the cost of ownership plummets with an electric vehicle. Every objective economic analysis will say so. No oil changes, engine issues. My fuel costs dropped 2/3+ with charging at home vs. gas station visits. Even stopping to charge at public stations costs less. Where I would have spent $75, I now spend ~ $25. (Note: I drive a Mustang Mach-E not a Rivian.) Estimates for folks who drive 1200 miles/mo (average) = $60-70 charging cost. When I have a year of data, I plan to write about the experience on savings alone. Parents of teens I know say no one wants to go to the gas station anymore. You wake up every morning and your car is fully charged.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I see them all the time. Every person I’ve talked to that owns one loves it.
Exactly my experience. (Note: I used to live in Marin County.) But more and more on the roads in Michigan now.
That is where I met you. 😃 I’m in the East Bay now and they are everywhere I go.

Good for RIvian but these things are too darn expensive. Make one that a real person can afford!
