That is completely absurd. Even if he didn't pay for the cookie—which he did!—how could that be an instant firing offense for a good employee with more than a decade of experience? I can't understand what Ford would get out of firing someone on such thin evidence.

Kurt is my hero of the day. This is a prime example of how employee competence, loyalty and integrity are disregarded. Many failures in this situation. The machine’s failure can be addressed. The human failures are incomprehensible. I hope this article gets attention beyond Substack.
